📖 Εισαγωγή
Καθώς τα blockchain γίνονται όλο και πιο δημοφιλή, προκύπτει το ζήτημα της scalability (κλιμάκωσης).
Δηλαδή: πώς μπορεί ένα δίκτυο να υποστηρίξει εκατομμύρια χρήστες και συναλλαγές χωρίς να “κολλάει” ή να έχει υψηλά κόστη;
Η απάντηση έρχεται μέσα από τη διάκριση Layer 1 και Layer 2 λύσεων.
🏗️ Layer 1 (Βασικά Δίκτυα)
Το Layer 1 είναι το ίδιο το κύριο blockchain.
Παραδείγματα: Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, Sui, BNB Chain.
Για να βελτιώσουν τις επιδόσεις τους, τα Layer 1 μπορούν να κάνουν:
- Αλλαγές στο πρωτόκολλο (π.χ. Ethereum → Proof of Stake).
- Αύξηση block size.
- Sharding (διαχωρισμός του δικτύου σε μικρότερα κομμάτια).
⚡ Layer 2 (Δευτερεύοντα Δίκτυα)
Το Layer 2 “κάθεται πάνω” στο Layer 1 και το βοηθά να κλιμακωθεί.
Παραδείγματα: Polygon, Arbitrum, Optimism, Lightning Network (Bitcoin).
Πώς δουλεύει:
- Οι συναλλαγές γίνονται στο Layer 2.
- Μετά στέλνονται “συνοπτικά” πίσω στο Layer 1 για τελική καταγραφή.
- Έτσι το Layer 1 παραμένει ασφαλές αλλά το Layer 2 προσφέρει ταχύτητα & χαμηλά fees.
